Noah Brewer released a video a few days ago on “How To Find Winning Products For TikTok Ads?”.
It is a necessary video for dropshippers to watch, but what stood out when watching wasn’t that part, but rather that there wasn’t a transcript of the video.
If you’re like me, you don’t like watching the video, and prefer transcripts: so in the effort to help the community, here is a text transcript of what Noah said.

Noah Brewer: What is going on, guys, Noah Brewer here back again with another video.
And today we’re going to be talking about TikTok again because I just uploaded the 48-hour challenge video where I did one and a half thousand dollars in 48 hours.
So if you haven’t seen that, you should go watch it. I expose everything, the product, the store, how we created the ads, basically the whole process.
But one thing that I didn’t cover was actually how I found the product and actually how I have been finding products to test on TikTok.
So a few people commented, a few people, message me asking actually how I go out and find products that are good to run on TikTok ads.
And honestly, there’s no right or wrong answer like right now.
I think TikTok ads are so new. It’s kind of hard to build really solid base criteria to follow and whatnot.
So I’ve been testing a lot of different random products.
Mostly utilizing the copycat method.
I’m not dipping into the pioneer method quite yet with TikTok, but the copycat method has been working very, very well.
And if you’re unfamiliar with what that is, essentially, we’re just looking for products that are working in other places, whether it’s Facebook or somebody you know who had a TikTok already go viral with that product, whatever the reason is, it’s just already proven to have interest in it in some way or some form.
And we just take that product and we test it.
So again, I truly do think that the pioneer method has massive potential with TikTok, but we’re still working out our systems for getting ads live pretty efficiently to be able to do that.
So for now we’re just doing the copycat method.
And like I said, it’s working incredibly well, just as good as the pioneer method works on Facebook.
And honestly, copycat with TikTok has had a higher success rate with testing than we’ve been seeing with Facebook ads recently with the pioneer method.
So definitely interesting seeing how things are different shifting from platform to platform.
But I built out this pretty easy structure that I’ve been following and I’ve also given training to different VAs so that they can go out and do this for me.
I’m not trying to sit around on TikTok all day and just do product research.
So I kind of already built out this training.
So I’m just going to kind of recreate it, in the form of a YouTube video for you guys.
So it’s really simple.
I honestly prefer to do my research on TikTok itself and then kind of bring it over to a Google sheet and go from there.
I’m going to walk you through the whole process and the best way to do it right now, but also keep in mind, there’s no one best way to do the copycat method.
You can do it anyway.
You can go back to all the good products that have worked on Facebook in the past two years, three years, four years, whatever, honestly, it doesn’t matter and retest those.
You can go watch, different case studies, different YouTube videos.
There are so many videos out there of products that have worked in the past that you can go out and copy and just test those.
Now I’m sure in time, my criteria and my expectations and standards will be a lot higher than they are right now, just as I do more testing.
And as I learn a lot more, but for now I’m testing pretty much everything that I come across, just because I’m trying to just like throw everything at the wall and just see what happens.
Like I have the money to, I have the team too, I don’t have to invest that much of my time into doing it.
So I’m trying to narrow it down to the best criteria and stuff like that.
But I mean, so far I’m in testing pretty much everything with like, not that many rules or criteria to follow and our success rates are just insane.
So to give you an example, I’ve, I’ve overseen at least 30 tests on TikTok ads.
And we found about seven winning products out of those 30 tests.
And, this is including the products that like even I thought were a stretch.
Like even I thought that the products were not that good or don’t have a chance of working and some of them did end up working and some of them didn’t.
So keep that in mind when you’re doing your product research, I don’t think that there’s any tried and true way to find a winning product on TikTok, because it’s so new.
I think we’re only about a year into the platform and they’re still changing things almost every single day.
So keep in mind that, I want you guys to have an open mind to just kind of really go out there, test new things.
And if you think something could work well, just run it.
And honestly, with the success rates that I’m seeing right now, it’s probably going to work, whatever it is.
So let’s get right into how to find products.
Now, of course, you’re going to stumble upon good products if you’re just scrolling through TikTok or Facebook or whatever, this is going to be more of a method for intentionally finding products.
So if you want to sit down for an hour per day and just build up a product list that you can go through and test, this is going to be the perfect method for you to follow.
Let’s get right into it.
So first of all, you want to build a Google sheet so that you can build up a list of products.
Now, these are not going to be the products that you’re for sure going to test.
This is essentially just a list of ideas, a list of products that, you see throughout your day or when you’re sitting down and scrolling through TikTok and you just put them in a sheet so that you can go back and look at them later.
Now, I don’t know if a lot of you are familiar with the way that I do product research, but usually what I’ll do is I’ll find the AliExpress link first.
Whereas with TikTok, I usually like to find the actual TikTok itself first, which is a little weird, and I might change this moving forward.
But as of right now, in my opinion, it’s been the easiest way to find winning products with TikTok.
You can see a TikTok video already made for that product, and you can see how it performed.
Now. As I said, I’m not necessarily looking for any specific criteria when I’m looking for TikTok videos, but I like to see that, it has like 20,000 likes or more so that I can make sure that this product and this video has already had, a bunch of interest in it lit a fire rather than just being like some random dude uploading a random ass product.
So kind of use your common sense when you’re doing that.
This is the way that I structure my Google sheet.

So, name, TikTok link, AliExpress link, how much it costs, what you’re going to sell it for.
And then if there are any notes that you want to write down when you’re doing your research, I usually jot them down here.
And then after testing the product, I always keep track of my results.
And this is strict because, at this point, I’m trying to look at everything from a bird’s eye view, all the different tests that I’ve done in the past, this is going to be effective if you’re trying to get good at product research, because you’ll kind of have a bird’s eye view of, what types of products do work, what types of products don’t, and it’ll just help you refine your systems.
So I highly recommend adding this little results column and just keeping track of every single test that you run.
So step number two, of course, is browsing TikTok and putting your links into your Google sheet. Right?
So I have TikTok pulled up on my phone.
So I’m going to head over to the search bar and I’m just gonna search, random things.
So like I’m going to start with searching for a product.

And then usually what I’ll do is go find a video for like some random product doesn’t matter what it is.
And then you’ll see all these different hashtags on the bottom.

So we have #productphotography, #graphicdesign, #depop, #small business, whatever.
So I’ll kind of click one of those hashtags and go into there and see what I can find in there.

So we have a video of a Nintendo switch here.
Kind of seems like most of these are going to be photography videos.
So let’s try and find a different one.
All right, here we go.
So there are some hashtags here. We have household products.
So, this hashtag has a ton of videos in it.

There’s probably a ton of videos in here as well, but you can just scroll through here and just look for Tiktoks that looks like there’s a product attached to it.
So this one is clearly for like some sort of spoon of some kind.

So you can see that this one has a thousand likes.
It’s not showing you the views that the video has anymore.
Maybe we can go to the page and it’ll show.
So this one has 54,000 views with only a thousand likes.
So, this is a product that we can find it on AliExpress, but I’m probably not going to add it to my list just because, it didn’t really like make any noise at all.
It seems like no, nobody cared about that one.
So another thing that you can do is kind of find like these products that don’t have a ton of interest around them and put them in your list anyways.
Like if you’re somebody that has a little bit of experience in drop shipping, and you’re confident in your product selection skills, if you see something that you think could work, I would highly recommend just pop it on your list anyways.
So another cool thing that you can search for is Amazon.

So Amazon hashtag has a ton of different products that you can do.
The downside to this is all the products are going to be on Amazon.
Right. But, that’s okay.
Like most of the dropshipping products out there are, are already on Amazon anyways.
So it’s not that big of a deal in my opinion.
But there are some hashtags associated with this.
So like you have Amazon finds, Tiktok Finds, Amazon Haul.
So like I would just browse through, I would just browse through these different hashtags bags and just see what you can find.
So if we go on Amazon finds, I mean, you can see a ton of different dropshipping products on here already.

Like the foot peeling masks, the laser keyboard, of course, the classic laser keyboard.
So this is like a good way to find products.
And then once you find a product, let’s just do the laser keyboard.
Cause I have it here.
Usually what I like to do is go ahead and copy the link and then send it to yourself through email or Skype or however you can get it on your computer.
So I just sent that over to my computer now, and we have the TikTok link here.
So I’m going to go ahead and copy that.
And I’m going to paste it in here and we’ll go ahead and call this product, the laser keyboard.
And then in terms of finding the product on AliExpress, it’s pretty simple to do, depending on the product, like some of the products are pretty hard to find, but you just have to find the right keyboard and you’ll stumble upon it.
This one’s going to be easy if I just look up laser keyboard, it’s going to come up so I can just go ahead and copy that, paste it over in the AliExpress link, let’s take a look at how much this product is costing.
So it looks like $30.
So we’ll just put like $31 there.
And I mean, let’s, let’s sell it for, 59, 97, something like that.
And then I don’t have any notes that I want to write down.

Like notes are great.
Like if the product has something wrong with it, or if you need to find another supplier, but whenever you want to do so once you get this filled out, it’s just a matter of repetition and just finding as many products as you can, trying to book out this list with as many products as possible.
And then you can go back later and come look at this and decide which ones you want to test.
Do you remember what I said?
All we’re trying to do here is just get ideas on paper so that we can go back later and decide what we want to do.
So the bigger your list, the better, the more options that you have, the better, the higher your success rate will be.
So the final step, of course, is getting your actual advertisement.

Now there are a few different things that I’ve tested and all of them work well.
There are some pros and some cons to both of them, which we’ll get into, we’ll go from the easiest to the most complicated ways to get different advertisements for your products.
Cause it’s a little bit different than Facebook ads.
You don’t want to run the normal Facebook ad video ads that we usually run.
You want to run more user-generated content where it’s more of like a generic, like, Hey guys, check out this product, yadda yadda, yadda.
And it’s not like a straight commercial.
So there’s a couple of things that you can do.
One of the things is cutting up the existing TikTok.
You can either find a bunch of different TikToks and put them together and make one ad using that, which is similar to what we do with Facebook.
We just find clips on the internet and cut them together.
You can also just straight-up steal the TikTok that is already on there.
I wouldn’t recommend doing this though, because eventually, TikTok will come out with a way to stop people from doing this.
Also, the good side to this is it’s super easy to do.
Like you can have a product launch tomorrow if you want it to.
But the downside is it’s a very, very short-term solution.
And honestly, as soon as you think that you have a winning product like once you cross like five or six sales if you’re making money and you’re profitable, I would move on to these other two steps as soon as possible, just so that you can get away from the stolen content.
You don’t want to be doing that for too long.
So the next step is ordering the product to your house or to wherever you are and making the advertisement yourself.
Now, this is a great way to do it.
I would honestly recommend if you have a Ted talk that already went viral for the product, you can just recreate it yourself.
Use the same scripts you use the same actions, show the same video, try to emulate it as much as possible.
At least at that point, it’s your video.
And nobody can try to take it down.
So this is great because honestly if you’re testing lower ticket products, it doesn’t cost that much money.
If you’re doing the copycat method, you can usually find it on Amazon Prime.
So you can just, get two three-day shipping over to your house and get your ad made pretty Quickly.
The downside to this though, is that you have to make an ad, Boohoo.
I know it sucks.
I honestly haven’t personally made an ad myself for TikTok.
I usually go with the next step on this list, but you can do it.
And it does work well.
A couple of guys on my team and in the mastermind have done it as well.
The next option that you have is using an actor.
We have a team over at Viral eCom Adz that can get you custom content UGC in five to seven business days.
It’s affordable.
It’s quick.
You can customize the script so you can have a custom script or you can have us emulate a TikTok that already works, and you can also customize the actor, the demographics like age. gender, stuff like that.
So this is a really good way, and it’s not that expensive to get a custom content video ad for something like Facebook, it’s a lot more expensive just because there’s a lot more production and editing that goes into it.
Whereas with UGC, yes, it’s still custom content, but it’s a lot cheaper to do because the actors are literally just whipping out their phone and just filming a thing.
So ordering custom content is a good idea, especially if you don’t want to mess around with making TikToks or doing any of that stuff, or if you just want to have a professional, do it.
In my opinion, custom content on TikTok is the best way to go.
Whether you make it yourself or you buy it from us, whether you make it yourself or you buy it from a content agency like Viral eCom Adz, it doesn’t matter.
I would probably recommend doing custom content as soon as you know that you have a winning product and you can even do it before even testing the product.
Like if you’re that confident or if you just want to make sure that you’re doing it in the best way possible.
So I hope this video was valuable.

Maybe I’ll go in-depth on some of the other ways that I’ve been finding products as well in some future videos.
But, this is how I’ve been finding products.
I’ve found plenty of winning products using this method.
So hopefully you can go off and do the same.
And of course, there’s more to it than just research, make sure that you’re out there testing products and, utilizing this information, don’t just sit there and do a bunch of research.
And then, don’t end up testing anything, actually take action, go out and find a winning product.
TikTok ads are insane right now.
