How to find video content for unsaturated products in a cost-effective manner

Do you know why most of the dropshippers do not test unsaturated products?

I’ve been trying to get people to test unsaturated products for a long time.

A lot of them want to test unsaturated products but have a legit reason for sticking to old and saturated products.

They can’t find content to make videos for ads.

Dropshippers source clips from the internet (mainly Youtube) and put them together with some text to test the product.

The problem with unsaturated products is:

They are new.

Not many people have seen it so there is not enough content for video ads.

But, where there is a will, there is a way.

We went back to the source to solve this problem.

There are three ways we use to find content for unsaturated products.

AliExpress Seed Method

A lot of AliExpress suppliers upload videos on their listing. So, I would search for my product and check all the listings to find video content for my product.

Here is an example for an LED Dog Collar:

The problem?

This can sometimes take 10-30 minutes to find one video.

If you don’t want to waste 10-30 minutes manually searching through lots of listings, you can use Super-Ali to do it in one minute.

Here’s how:

Step 1: Copy the full title of the product.

Step 2: Go to Super-Ali, put the title in the search field, select “Videos Only” results and select “All time” as the import date in Advanced Filters.

This is how it will look if you’ve done everything right:

Hit search and you’ll have all the results with videos in it. You will see a “Video Icon” under each thumbnail:

You can open the product listing in a new tab, download the video, and use it.

Note: It’s good practice to confirm with the supplier before using their content in your video.

Here’s a step-by-step video walkthrough of how it’s done:

Let’s move on to our next method.

Google Reverse Image Search

If you don’t find enough video content on AliExpress, then it’s time to try a Google reverse image search.

To perform a reverse image search, you right-click on any image on AliExpress and select “Search Google for Image”.

Google will find websites that are using this same image on their page. You can then go through the search results and look for content for your video ads.

Note: I have found Google finds the best results on Taobao, 1688, and tmall.

If you’re a Super-Ali subscriber then you don’t have to go through the search results manually.

You can use the “Find Seller” feature available on all the product pages. It will show you search results divided into four tabs according to the platform:

  • Shopify sites
  • WordPress sites
  • Marketplaces (AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, etc)
  • Other sites (Taobao, 1688, Tmall, etc)

I call this the “Taobao USP Hack”. Here’s a step-by-step video walkthrough of how it works:

Let’s move on to the next method.

Google Dorks

This method was shared by my friend Prathamesh Krisang in a Facebook Group called Product Research Lab.

In this method, we are going to use some search operators and filters provided by Google.

Type this into Google: “{keyword} site:aliexpress.com”

With this search, Google will show us results related to that keyword which is from AliExpress.

In the case of our LED dog collar example, the search will look something like this:

Now, switch to the video tab and you will see all the results with videos in it:

You can click here to see the results for yourself: LED dog collar site:aliexpress.com

There are many more methods that we use to find content for unsaturated products.

But these three are all you need to get started.

By sourcing video content from these methods, I have also faced fewer copyright issues.

Probably because Facebook isn’t available in China 😉

Now you can test new and unsaturated products with lots of content and no copyright issues.
